Likes: The Commuter is basically what you get set in a thriller action style movie with Liam Nelson, basically non-stop on rails. Most every movie Liam has done has been good, some have been slightly boring at times where you lose interest in what goes on, but for someone like Liam at his age still doing these type of films is impressive.
Normal thriller film can be boring because of the slow pacing, but with the commuter, he gives the audience a bit of an edge as Liam character Michael MacCauley is suddenly forced to do something he knows is wrong or people will die. As the film progress, we get to know almost everyone on the train as the whole film is revolving around the journey of the train to a certain destination.
The great thing about this film is it doesn't reveal too much of what going on other than a corrupt in divisionals have committed a murder and it was witnessed by someone trying to escape them with evidence that can bring those responsible down.
This is basically what this film is about with someone on the train that has the evidence those that are trying to track them down don't know who has the evidence, which is why they get Michael MacCauley who is an ex-cop to find them.
But you would think this is just an ordinary story, Michael after 10 years of working for the company get fired is left with the bill and other things to pay which make him an easy target to get this job done because of the money involved in finding this person.
We come to see his character find out certain thing realise that this is a serious situation these people don't mess around, this is where this film takes on this action-suspense thriller as he trying to use his detective skill to hunt down this person before the time run out.
The plot is pretty much like non-stop really almost the same plot just a little different in the usual type of thrillers he plays, with a lot of twists and turn that throw you off guess, which is great for the audience because it keeps them engaged in finding out who is involved.
This keeps the audiences in the seats which are great for any film, but as thriller go this might not be a film for everyone, you might find this film boring so bear in mind if you like non stop you might like this, but it is a slow burner at times.
Expect great acting and few cameo roles from Sam Neill, Jonathan Banks, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga who have their own starring roles in this film plotline, but it not as bad as most of the other thriller Liam has done, so this is actually worth checking out.

Dislikes: The pacing is a light slow can be a slow burner at times, someone the visual effects are a bit unrealistic but apart from that it, not a bad thriller.
Overall: Great acting, few cameo roles, plotline is ok pretty much like non-stop on rails
Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for Entertainment / 7.3 out of 10 for plotline
