Story: Led by a warrior named Andy (Charlize Theron), a covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die have fought to protect the mortal world for centuries. But when the team is recruited to take on an emergency mission and their extraordinary abilities are suddenly exposed, it's up to Andy and Nile (Kiki Layne), the newest soldier to join their ranks, to help the group eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate and monetize their power by any means necessary.
Like: After seeing the trailer with a lot of hype over the film, with a great cast of actors/actress, you would think this film would actually be good, but after watching it after seeing the trailers, this movie had a lot of potential to be a masterpiece but falls short massive of the mark. Yes alot of reviews will give it a great high score calling it amazing film which is there opinion with it being based of a graphic novel, Sadly its a film that fails to grab any attention which is a shame with this cast.
The Film sadly, falls into that cliched type of film that pretty average with the same action sequence and course of events, that have been going on since the 90s movies which feels more like a slow Drama film than an a Action packed hero type of film. It does try hard with the action scene with a john wick style of fighting but sadly doesnt have that flare john which has.
Sadly the film mid way through the movie some may sadly lose interest with a lack buster movie, it just seemed that it was a very simple action flick with a very straight forward story and blunt characters that arnt truly explained why they are Immortal there just isnt any back story were just give character that are immortal and some medical corrupt company wants to exploit that which is all the film is.
Charlize Theron and the rest of the cast are about the only thing that keeps the films going with their acting skills, as the story just feel generic and bland, when it has so much potential to be greater then what was given. Its Shame because NetFlix has had some really great action movies recently I was expecting more of action film instead its just a slow burning some what average hero film that lacks action, i kind disappointed with this film because it could have been better.
Dislikes: The story isnt very well explained on why these people are Immortal and why is the new girl immortal, its never really explain in the film other that them just being immortal, i think this is what the film was missing, as well as the lack luster action scene with shaky cam (which is amateurish) This film just feel plain and generic when it has so much potential to be better.
Overall: Acting is good, Story is generic, the action is a little lack luster, but watchable.
Rating: 4.2 out of 5 For Entertainment / 6.1 out of 10 comic book adaption story.
