Parents advised reading before viewing the film as some scenes may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.
Sex & Nudity: There is none of this in the movie at all. :)
Violence & Gore: Extensive and frequent stylized fantasy martial-arts sword fights & shootouts all including no blood detail (only in 1st act and final act) - just dialogue in 2nd act.
Some sequences in the film include giant creatures that attack some men
Profanity: One muffled use of the "F" word, and infrequent uses of "s**t", "b**ch" (said to a woman)" and "ass".
Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: some mild drinking is shown
Frightening/Intense Scenes: Contains mature themes of terrorism, criminal activity, revenge - all with a strong sense of threat/menace.
Story: A G.I. Joe spin-off centered around the character of Snake Eyes.
Likes: First of all this film was entertaining, but I'm gonna be honest the film has a crisis of identity for what the film is supposed to repersent. The acting is sold and Henry Golding did a great job playing a snake, as well as the whole cast to this film, gave a solid performance. Along with the special effect and action scene which were ok, as certain elements ruin most of the action scenes. but all this is ruined by the way the film has been done.
Dislikes: Start off I noticed a big issue with the Film identity, yes the film does make moments where it's clear that it is a G.i joe film with cobras presence but the film concept has an identity crisis with trying to be two films with a Japanese style momster movie and G.i.joe film which wasn't executed well onscreen, which make the film a little off point with the g.i. joe side.
This was coupled with a lot of shaky camera work which I seriously hate because it ruins a good action scene when the camera is going all over the place you cant see what going on.
I'm not sure if they were trying a reboot for g.i.joe, but this was not how to do it, and this film could've been done a lot better because as a Japanese momster film this would have been ok, but it was very weak on the side of the g.i.joe story.
Overall: Entertainment, Great acting, poor execution of the story.
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 for Entertainment / 6.4 out of 10
