Likes: Black Adam is it any good? Absolutely, while they may be something most Audiences would dislike about this film, it feels like a great Addiction to the DC universe, as for the character of Black Adam, most Comic book fans would nit-pick on certain things, in an interview with Dwayne Johnson he said they want to change the character a bit and give it a Dirt harry style with the character which I think actually works.
While Most critics will say that Black Adam feels to must of a hero, I disagree with that statement, because the level of violence on pg13 movie from the character of black Adam shows he's not a hero, not by far, things he does in this film are most defiantly not a hero, ya I know a lot of people will think that it's just the rock playing himself, I can honestly say here is not the case, in fact, he actually does the character justice.
The great thing about this film is the back story explaining the past with black Adam like the comic book does, showing the audience that doesn't know must about black Adam giving a more detailed live-action insight into the past of the character. Though the story isnt overwhelmingly deep, it does have some Emotional moments with his family which is why you can understand why Adam is the way he is, I think Dwayne Johnson pulled his character quite well.
As seen in the trailer most critics complained that sabbac was the main villain but he was always there in the film from the beginning, I like the set-up toward that battle, ya some will probably complain too must CGI blur blur blur, they forget a lot of the Marvel film use a lot of CGI as well, To be honest when it comes to film making there are the certain element that you just can not do with practical effects which is why CGI is used.
The atom smasher played by Noah Centineo, his part in the film was actually pretty funny, as there was a moment when he would do something bad by mistake, it just make you laugh, I thought Cyclone played by Quintessa Swindell was perfect. For the first time in the film, Dr Fate is played brilliantly by Pierce Brosnan, the costume design and the change in the helmet were a welcome change, and the powers used in the film were comic-book accurate too. Aldis Hodge has perfect casting and he nailed it as Hawk man, with a perfect attitude, and no fear of death, the costume design was amazing.
The action in this film is Supremely violent that that im actually shocked with the level they got away with, especial the moment Black Adam appears that was brutal on a level that was almost R-rated, it no surprising since Originally the film was filmed with an R-rating but had to be cut back to a pg13. But that said the film has a moment where it takes that pg13 to the borderline.
The end credit scene was just amazing to hear, which most fans have been waiting to hear.
Would I recommend this film Yes, like I said while the story isnt overwhelmingly deep, it's still a great fun, action-packed film, with great fights and visual effects
Dislike: While the film is great, there are a few things that the film could've improved on, like Cyclone and Atom smasher their characters while great on-screen could've been fleshed out more, as with Hawk man, it felt like fan service which most audience won't know who they are.
Overall: Great action, Great backstory, Dwayne the rock johnson was perfect as Black Adam
Rating: 5 out of 5 for Entertainment / 9 out of 10 for Black Adam adaption.
