Story: In the aftermath of 'Captain America: Civil War,' Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to re-balance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he's confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.
Likes: Right I'm not gonna give this review like a fanboy and give it a 10 out 10 review of the film, Not gonna happen. No I'm, not a DC fanboy, I'm a film critic that reviews a film as a whole and gives my honest opinion whether its a DC or Marvel.
Not gonna say the film is complete bad it does have its good points but it has a lot of bad points as well, Evangeline Lilly gave a more active role in this sequel was a good choice to make, she did pretty well with her performance and actually kicked ass, I do feel at some points she was carrying the film.
Visually the special effects are pretty well done there are some major problems with the story that makes you have to switch off your brain. Some of the jokes were funny but half the film missed the mark in areas.
With a great performance from Lawrence Fishburne with what he was scripted, Father-daughter dynamic between Scott and his daughter was likeable throughout the film show a father love for his kids give a film cute family moments.
This is all I can stay that is good about this film.
Dislikes: The biggest problem with this film is too many writers, as the story is completely all over the place, a lot of the jokes in typical generic marvel films fall flat like they were meant to be funny moments. They weren't funny, not even the audience I was sat with was laughing, there funny and there funny that complete incoherent and void of humour, this is the typical Marvel comedy that seems to be a trend.
This is why for me personal out of 20 films now Marvel has done, only 4 of Marvel films have had a grounded story and better writer, Captain America: First Avenger, Avengers, Captain America 2 winter solider, Avengers infinity war. Sadly I found the others very generic, sadly I find Ant-man and the wasp the very same generic film as the rest.
What I mean by generic is the villains, A well-written villain is someone with purpose and motive to be evil and not someone that just evil because they are evil, This is the problem with the character Ghost. Although they did give a brief background story of her being weaponized, the story is very weak written which make her a weak villain.
Which make this film Generic and very mediocre, not as bad as the first film was, but almost equal to it.
The other thing as well is part of this film blatantly tell you to switch your brain off, I mean the building being shrunk to a small size which is in the trailer, but it the fact it gets put back to it original size serval times, it automatically go power and connect to the plumbing, like really?
Having the ability to shrink to small size ya is believable, but having a building shrunk and then put back to it original sizes with everything inside intact sorry is a little far-fetched when it would be like an earthquake. This is what I mean the film kind of ask you to switch your brain off.
So overall I found this film very generic in its writing for the story, and very mediocre altogether.
Overall: Good performances, good action, Generic villain and mediocre story
Rating: 5 out of 5 Entertainment / 6 out of 10 for Sequel.

Sex & Nudity:
- We hear a couple moments of veiled verbal innuendo that adults will pick up on while kids likely won't.
- Hank describes Scott's phasing encounter with Janet in the Quantum Realm as a "quantum entanglement." To which Scott earnestly declares, "I would never do that!"
- In another scene, Scott and Bill Foster both talk of wearing the Hank Pym super-suit and growing to gigantic heights.
- An annoyed Hope quips, "If you two are done comparing sizes ..."
- Elsewhere, Hope vaguely alludes to the apparent physical relationship she and Scott once shared, in which they "worked together, did other stuff together."
- We see Scott get in a bathtub, but nothing that would be covered by board shorts is shown.
- A man is shown shirtless and in boxers in several scenes.
- We see a couple kiss.
- Some female characters reveal a bit of cleavage.
- In one rather brief but shocking scene (a form of a flashback) a man and woman, though fully clothed, are seen embracing and kissing each other passionately.
Violence & Gore:
- This is a superhero film, so there are explosions, melees and car crash aplenty.
- we only see two people lying bloodlessly in some rubble after a building explodes, drivers are kicked out of vehicles, fall off motorcycles, etc, some are knocked out.
- there is still plenty of pummeling in the mix as thugs, federal agents and super-powered beings clash.
- People get tossed and slammed into tables, walls and the ground.
- Some smash through windows and glass doors.
- A lot of the attention is given to Wasp's incredibly acrobatic moves as she shrinks and grows while punching and kicking at scores of foes, knocking many unconscious.
- She and Scott dodge huge crushing hammers, slashing knives, stomping feet and hurtling vehicles in their miniaturised form.
- Large microbe creatures threaten one character in a microscopic universe.
- The film's villain, the Ghost, has phasing ability that allows her to propel people with a vibrating strike.
- In one scene, we see her with her a ghosted fisted arm pushed through someone's neck, threatening critical damage to the person if she doesn't get what she wants (though no permanent damage is done to that character).
- Ghost talks about and we see clips of the work she did in the past for the government after being "weaponized," work that included assassinations and killing.
- Two people are tasered.
Profanity:
- God's name is misused about a dozen times, including one pairing with "d--n."
- Jesus' name is abused twice.
- We hear two fully voiced s-words and two uses that are unfinished.
- We also hear a dozen or so uses of "d--n," at least seven uses of "h---," three uses of "a--" and one of "son of a b--ch."
Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking:
- Scott gets shot with a dart that renders him unconscious.
- Several people are injected with a truth serum-like cocktail.
- We see a needle piercing someones arm to administer that drug.
- Something shrinks in a surprising fashion, causing a confused elderly man to joke, "The '60s were fun. But now I'm paying for it."
- We hear the sound of someone vomiting.
Frightening/Intense Scenes:
- Not really intense scene in the post-credits, but a link with a previous Marvel movie.
