Story: In Depression-era London, a now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael's three children, are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins following a personal loss. Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack, she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives.
Likes: Sequel to Julie Andrews Mary Poppins, set 30 years where the Banks children are all grown up and had children of their own, like before in a time of crisis, The magical lady returns in true form which Julie Andrews would be proud of as Emily Blunt nails the role perfectly.
You could tell that Emily was having fun with this role, really took on the behaviour and manner of the way Julie did the role, for a sequel the film has a few musical moments like the original although doesn't quite capture the magic of the first film but still very entering.
Along with great casting and returning cameos with great choreography, as well as the old fashion 2D animation style for a new age, really adds to the film. Emily is in her element with amazing acting skills and triple treat when it comes to singing as well, she deserves an Oscar for this alone, special with co-stars as well.
The film itself does a great job with create the magical moments that the original had, especial when the film does a great job as not copying whats done before, it adds new moments and new characters to the film.
Although this film is gonna be one of those films that your iver gonna love or hate, it a film with a required taste, if you're a fan of the original than you love this sequel.
Dislikes: Pacing is slighty off the film could have been slightly better but still a great film.
Overall: Great sequel, Emily Blunt is in her element, Great musical and magic moments.
Rating: 5 out of 5 for Entertainment / 9 out of 10 for the sequel
