Story: Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.
Likes: First think im gonna say is the yes the film is overhyped, yes I know you thinking ok you just hating on the film for hating on it, sadly no im not. I'm not saying the film is a Complete disaster as it's an average film that's ok but it not as good as it could've been.
David Harbour performance as Hellboy wasn't bad, as he did a pretty good job with what he was given, especially the fact his body is real as he put a lot of bodybuilding in for the role and not a rubber suit which Ron Perlman had which gave David a more realistic look with Hellboy.
I like that they introduced Two new characters from Sasha Lane playing Alice Monaghan and Daniel Dae Kim playing Major Ben Daimio which I can't give away to much because of spoilers but their character add a flare to the film.
As for the film, it was more of a horror film this time than a superhero film with things that reminds me, Clive Barkers Jericho, with a lot of bloody scenes as the film kicks in as well as a few moments throughout the film. Which is why this film should've been R-rated not 15 because when this film goes horror it really goes horror.
Especial with Baba Yaga, the way she moves and looks and special what is shown in the background make this scene very creepy and disturbing but capture the very image of Baba Yaga perfectly.
There are two credit scenes one before the film ends which introduces a new character and one weird but pointless credit scene not should if they were going for a laugh but it was pointless, but to be honest this is all that I can say that was good about this film without giving away spoilers but the film is majorly flawed, but it will depend on your taste of film.
Dislikes:
Overall: Average film, More horror than superhero, good acting, but budget hurts the film
Rating: 4 out of 5 for Entertainment / 6.1 out of 10 reboot concept

Sex & Nudity:
- None. There is no nudity.
Violence & Gore:
- Non-stop bloody violence from the beginning to the end.
Profanity:
- There are uses of "Fuck" and "motherfucker", including other derogatory terms.
Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking:
- Hellboy frequently gets drunk and is often seen drinking tequila.
Frightening/Intense Scenes:
- Baba Yaga is extremely scary. Her movements are strange and disturbing.
- The movie never takes itself seriously, so it's not intended to be frightening, but the monsters could be scary to some viewers (especially Baba Yaga), there is a lot of blood and many people get killed by the demons.

Dislikes:
- The story is ok but it could've been so much better, I feel the budget of this film hurt the film more than the story, as the CGI moments were really bad. It shows on screen that greenscreen has been used for these scenes as the animation looks at like like someone created cheap programming CGI for certain things, which is why I feel the budget should have been given a bit more to polish the CGI better.
- A lot of one-liners and joke kind of fell flat didn't really hit the mark.
