Story: A kindhearted street urchin and a power-hungry Grand Vizier vie for a magic lamp that has the power to make their deepest wishes come true.
Likes: Right im not gonna say this was a Horrible film, its entertaining in some aspects of the film, but the film has a whole has some major issues that drag it down, it pretty clear that Guy Ritchie doesn't know how to make this type of film because he's more of a drama and action director.
I'm Kind of glad they didn't whitewash this film and actually got few Arabian actors and Actress with a few Indian actors and actress as well, which give the film an authentic feel, especial with the set design is which is great.
There are some original songs being sung as well as some new add additional numbers which are well sung, but I do feel with Jasmine character that the actress Naomi Scott is lip sinking to someone else singing though her acting is actually great playing this role, same goes with Mena Massoud with Aladdin's singing numbers, which is ok but slighty noticeable.
Nasim Pedrad very beautiful playing the handmaiden Dalia, I found her performance cute in a way, you could see she was having fun with the role was allowed to let her character shine through this whole movie.
The music numbers are well times through the moving, with some touching moments, the CGI is great, but I bet you're all wondering how the genie looked because I know the internet was in a freezy over Will Smith Blue look.
Well, i'l be honest Will Smith IMO kind of carried the film with his charisma and Showman style he can be, as the genie he did a really good job, although Robin Williams was the best, Will Smith brought his A-game here making the film entertaining when he was on screen.
Especial with the message which wasn't a political one, it was more of a personality choice to be careful of who you become because changing your self to be something your not, your living a lie which I liked it, words of wisdom.
Dislikes: Here where I had a problem with this film, some of the actings was bad, especial throughout the first and second act of this film, the acting felt safe but felt forced like they were reading from a Cue card, it comes off really bad on the screen when the acting isnt naturally flowing.
Marwan Kenzari got awful villian playing Jafar, im sure he a great actor but damn he sucked in this film, so one dimensional and boring, it's not his fault it the way the character has been written with a very safe characterization of jafer when he should've been given more depth
Overall: Entertaining in some parts, not the great film is ok, some bad acting play it too safe.
Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for Entertainment / 6.8 out of 10 for the classic animated live-action reboot
