Parents advised reading before viewing the film as some scenes may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.
Sex & Nudity: Characters engage in sexual intercourse during one sequence for about 8 seconds but then stops. Just multiple kisses which then suggests sexual acts.
A hugely fat man is naked BUT the camera focuses on his waist and up. His legs are also shown too. The scene is shown so fast that we didn't notice any inappropriate nudity.
Violence & Gore: Brief infrequent strong depictions of hand-to-hand stabbings accompanied with generous blood detail. Some sequences also involve fast throat-slitting - all horror violence in the film is done by knives.
Profanity: Infrequent use of "shit" - 2 brief uses
Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Infrequent portrayals of alcohol and tobacco use in a recreational context.
Frightening/Intense Scenes: Frequent nightmarish imagery, portrayals of corpses, and unexplained aural and visual phenomena - some blood and detail
Multiple implied depictions of suicide but is never clearly shown - offscreen.
Frequent disturbing and brutal imagery.
Story: A chilling story of terror, murder, and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they'd ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.
Likes: Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga return as the famous Paranormal hunter's Ed and Lorraine Warren in another Paranormal investigation that was their toughest investigation in Ed and Lorraine lives, sadly both Ed and Lorraine passed away some time ago but their memory lives on with ( Patrick ) Ed and (Vera) Lorriane trying to find out what going on with a family which turns out to be something much more sinister.
Throughout the Conjuring universe films from the first Conjuring film to the Annabelle spinoff movies, which some were a hit or miss with some people, but there is always something special about the conjuring films themself giving a dramatic portrayal of events that have happened over the years to certain families.
The first film, it explains a lot about how people end up getting possessed or haunted which set up the whole universe of these films, from a haunting of a witch to the demonic presence of a Dominic nun, this time the film has a little bit of twist to the story which make the haunting very difficult to find out what going on.
The film itself does a great job with its pacing as the story unfolds, giving the audience a well-balanced story that needs to be paying attention too or you might miss the clues to the film story. While the story at times might not be scary, there are a few moments where the film takes on a very dark atmosphere, with one creeping moment that actually chilled me to the bone which gave this film the edge it needed letting the audience know that watching something far more sinister than a haunting film.
If You loved the conjuring films you love this one, as this is a highly recommend horror to watch.
Dislikes: The only slight flaw is the explanation of why these people were targeted, which not really explained in the film, but it passable a flaw as the film gives a great explanation of what going on.
Overall: Dark, creep explainable story, very creepy at times.
Rating: 5 out of 5 for Entertainment / 8.6 out of 10 for 3rd installment
