Parents advised reading before viewing the film as some scenes may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.
Sex & Nudity: none
Violence & Gore:
- The film contains multiple violent sequences, in which a family defends itself against supernatural creatures. They use firearms, fire, and traps to kill the creatures. Some injuries and blood is depicted.
- Some scenes show decaying bodies and skeletons.
- The beginning scene can be intense for some viewers. Many people get attacked, but most of it is offscreen. There is little to no blood actually shown in the film, but the tone is still very dark.
- When the monsters open up their "faceplates", they're usually killed with a shot to the head. Minimal gore is shown flying, and at one point, a character sticks an iron rod into a monster's head with dark-colored blood spewing.
- When the monsters attack, there is usually very little blood. It's almost always just a simple swing of their claws that kills people and it's obscured most of the time.
- There are several bloody footprints throughout the movie.
- One of the monsters gets shot in the head with a shotgun. Lots of blood spurts out of its head along with a few chunks of its face are blown off.
- A monster gets a chunk of its face blown off with a shotgun. It is then shot in the back of the head with a rifle. This entire sequence is really gory
Profanity: The film contains infrequent use of the word "shit".
Jesus Christ is used as an exclamation
Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: A woman pours alcohol on a wound. Other than that, no characters drink, smoke, or do any drugs in the movie.
Frightening/Intense Scenes:
- The film contains horror and supernatural themes. Creatures may scare some viewers as they have a creepy look.
- A scene occurs where a character steps on a bear-trap very briefly with injury detail visible.
- One scene features two of the lead characters being accosted by a group of feral people. This can be emotionally intense.
- This movie definitely doesn't hold back on the jump scares. It is a lot more suspenseful and a lot more violent than the first one.
- There is a pretty effective jumpscare when Regan is walking through an abandoned train, and birds suddenly fly through it
Story: Following the events at home, the Abbott family now faces the terrors of the outside world. Forced to venture into the unknown, they realize the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats lurking beyond the sand path.
Likes: Wow.....I've got to hand it to Emily Blunt's husband John Krasinski, he the first person that directed a film of this type and actually made a sequel of typic work. Normal when it comes to creature film like this it normal a one-off film, because once you see it, they become less frightening which makes the sequel hard to do, but John Krasinski pulls this off by upping the game and making it a much more intense film with a fast action scene of horror.
The first Quiet Place film was a massive surprise hit with the audience giving brilliant concepts and creativity with an unseen or unheard in any film before. Some might think that the first film was lightning in a bottle that can't be expanded, but John really set the bar on how to make something like this work.
This is Absolute refreshing in sci-horror film, where you can't say that we see it all before type of horror, this is very clever and well-directed to keep the audience glued to the seat, with every sound could bring trouble down on them, and find this concept very refreshing and someone actually using their imagination, put it down on paper and making a film out of a good concept for a movie.
While yes you gonna have some people saying that it the same film as the first one, which technically it is because it a continuation of what happened after the first film, while giving the audience an answer to where the hell these things come from, it was done in a clever and frightening way.
Cillian Murphy is such an underrated actor who gives a great performance of someone that lost everything and just trying to survive. The array of new settings add a ton to the overall film's atmosphere and they utilize some clever spots to accelerate the action and fear as the family struggles to survive. Emily Blunt's performance once again shines out like a beacon, showing off just how talented she is as an actress.
Again the CGI work done on these brutal savage creatures is 100% realistic, the concept of them having hypersonic hearing really giving them a frightening look.
Dislikes: The only nitpick were two scenes through the film were a little predictable, I saw it coming because apart from that, this was a great sequel
Overall: Intense, frightening, great performances
Rating: 5 out of 5 for Entertainment / 9.5 out of 10 for a sequel concept
