Story: The first leg of the USS Enterprise's five year mission takes them into uncharted territory. There the Enterprise is nearly destroyed and strands Kirk and his crew on a remote planet with no means of communication. Kirk must then work with the elements to reunite his crew and get back to Earth.
Likes : As the 3rd installment of the newly rebooted franchise of star trek gotta say this is actually good, there is slight flaws in the story but it actually well directored & written , Simon peg hasn't done a bad job with writing this film.
Clear you have the original returning crew reprised by chris Pine , Zachary Quinto , Karl Urban , Zoe Saldana , Simon Pegg , John Cho , Anton Yelchin, which are awesome performances from them , special introducing news characters special a funny moment at the beginning of the film which even i laughed at.
Sofia Boutella new character to the star trex universe your best known her from the kingmen film who in this film she plays Jaylah alien woman from a different planet who very capable of handling her self in combat will say this for an alien she was pretty hot lol.
Her performance is brilliant showing that she can handle a main lend character with a lot of screen time which is good , hopefully were see more of her in the next films.
Idris Elba New bring a awesome performance show just how amazing this guy is at acting, give him any role he just make the film better, playing the villain of the film he certainly was a person to mess with as his character has this cold ruthless military style attitude to him, you could clearly see agenda which is later revealed in the film with a twist that audience will see give the character more depth.
I really love the way they open this film up more, unlike the last too film's it more on the crew side of thing we never really got to see that much of the whole universe with different species , with this film were are given a more depth look at different races which is good because this is what the first too films have been missing.
The visual effect are stunning , brilliant done just like with J. J.abhams work with the first too film's i see why he couldn't do this 3rd film because of the star wars films, but the new director Justin Lin has done an awesome job taking over, whether he will be doing the 4th film not sure, but there iss a 4th film announced.
Too thing i love is that they gave bone & spook more character with the banter between them it gets funny at times which is good because it lightens up the film a little , the way this film pay respect to Leonard Nimoy that was the most respectful way ive seen in a film to give him a good send off from the film alot of the film gives emotional dedication to the character that fans of star trex will respect & love. it was beautiful done & well written in respect of the man that fan come to love.
That battle scene wow the music was a little out of place for the century the film is set in but in honest it actually work for the scene , giving a great battle scene with awesome sound track that just made that one of the best battle scene in star trex.
This is a film would recommend going to watch this summer that dedicated to Leonard Nimoy & Anton Yelchin may they rest in peace .
Dislikes : There isn't much of a build up to the the intense attack its just suddenly happens, i feel there could of been a better build up there, there is one scene with Montgomery 'Scotty' Scott & Jaylah with how did she know his name with him saying it, that was a little off but apart from that the rest of the film is actually good..
Overall : Intense battle, bad ass villain, Jaylah is bad ass hot alien chick, great written story.
Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8.9 out of 10 for concept
