Story: The world is thrown into chaos by an alien invasion, the human race on the verge of extinction the only way to survive is to stay silent as the sound is your enemy. Several months on A family is forced to live in silence while hiding from creatures are on the hunt for the slightest sound.

Likes: First of all I don't feel how a few people would say this film is bad, ya there are a few flaws but what film is perfect. Although the premises of this film is good there was the area I thought could've been improved on.

But the base line of this concept is actually good for what we are seeing on screen, it uses the silent pretty well, which I feel most audience might not like as the film isnt your typical talking film. Talk through the film is done in sign language which you will come to understand as the film progress as to why they are being silent.

Krasinski once again is able to do what all the great directors can do...that playing the audience emotions like a fiddle. Especial with the way this film is done which throws you into the think of things, unlike most alien invasion type films we see the beginning of the invasion, where this film set months after the invasion.

But don't let this fool you into thinking this is gonna be a boring cliche film, its far from it, because what we get is 1h 30min of an extremely intense scene that slowly builds up over time cleverly not showing to much leave only fast glimpse in the background of what is hunting people, which gives the audience a very frightening concept of something extremely fast, powerful and very dangerous.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski on-screen chemistry work well in this film as a family as they are a couple married to each, which help a lot with the concept of a struggling family trying to stay alive. Brilliant performance from Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds playing the children which made this concept even more frightening as two parents trying to protect their children.

The visual effect of the creatures themself is pretty well done, and look pretty frightening InDesign which work for the tension of the film, as these seemly unstoppable creatures hunt by sound. The film is beautifully shot and the cast does an exceptional job at conveying true terror and a true sense of family struggle.

It not a perfect film but the intense and frighting moment keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat throughout the film, making this film worth watching for any horror fan or cinema goer to enjoy

Dislikes: I feel the film could've had a narrative at the begin to explain just a bit or news feeds showing the world fighting them, although it kind of shown in new papers clipping, I do feel that this could've been explained better as this may of give the audience a direction to follow.

Although the film is great in areas the film does feel as if the certain scene were cut to shorten the film slightly, as the film does feel a little short.

Other areas could have had more people in involved as well, being picked off I feel this would have given the film just that bit more edge.

Overall: Great concept, frightening and intense film, great performances from all cast.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for Entertainment / 8 out of 10 for the concept.
