Likes: WOW !, gotta hand it to the Chinese film industry when it comes to action fantasy films, not sure if this film is in English dubbed but this was a great film. Keep you entertained through the film with some slapstick humour as well as great fight scene that is well choreographed, give this film its brilliant entertainment value.
I have to say this because this was the cutest thing ive seen in a film one of the funniest, Oka, an orange and white furred Armadillo, at first I was like what the hell is that thing but as the film progresses you came to love his little quirky personality., not to meantion helping Ni Kongkong played by Darren Wang in fights.
The stunts frightening scenes are beautifully choreographed showing off some amazing martial arts swordplay, as well as some of the visual effects, the acting is pretty solid and goofy at a time with the comedic side of the film which is great because it make's it even funnier.
All in all, this wasn't a bad film I did spot a few flaws in the film but not enough to say that it brought the film down, it definitely got that hidden dragon and monkey king style in the elements of the story since you dealing with fantasy.
The basic plot of the first is told and the beginning giving the audience and background story, it a cartoon way with narrative speaking, which is good for a lot of films as it gives the general audiences some solid ground to understand the movie story.
But as ive said it not a bad film, just a few minor flaws but if you can look past them and just enjoy the film, I think you like this.
Dislikes: There are a few issues with visual effects, it does come off a little cheap at the time, but apart from that this is a great film
Overall: Good fantasy martial art sword fights, great humour, good story
Rating: 5 of out 5 for entertainment / 7.2 out of 10 for the concept
