Likes: let's get one thing straight with this review, I don't care about your agenda, you're sexual orientation or political views, this review is based on what I watched and the way the film comes across despite what other people opinions are on the film. Don't like this tough all you're getting here the honest truth.

Captain Marvel was meant to be the answer to DC wonder woman that delivers a compelling character and a new character to the MCU yet comes off with a very weak written story with no heart and soul. Not that the film has good points especially with Ben Mendelsohn character playing a Skrull named Talo which is actually one of his best performance yet, along with really good CGI to de-age Samuel L. Jackson to look younger giving a brilliant performance.

Comedy side of the film I feel they got right with the cat, comes off like a Garfield style moments which even the audience was laughing at shows that the comedy writing it done well for this film, visual yes this film is stunning with the special effect. But sadly this is all I can say it ok with the film as the rest of the film feels forced.

Dislikes: Here's the problem with this film, it throws Brie Larson character captain marvel into the film already with her powers without the story giving the audience a compelling character on why she deserves them or any growth in her character. This is poor screenwriting that feels rushed just to portray a powerful woman on screen.

This is made worse by the dialogue through the film as her character come off and teh way she talks and behaves like a condescending, arrogant, spoilt brat which demeans her character as a hero which is extremely unlikable and unheroic like.

Some of the jokes are cheesy, embarrassingly stupid and forced, especial when the story is written in such a way that men are stupid and woman are smart which is cringe-worthy dialogue throughout most of the film.

The trailer and advertisements potrayed the skrull as the bad guys which are a misleading advertisement because the film as a whole paint a must different story which make this film plot messy.

Portraying Jude Law as an action star was really bad casting, Jude law is more suit to drama or thriller films, not action it really shows in this film.

Overall this film feels rushed with no effort to make this film work just to have captain marvel in the avenger's end game, that how truly this film come across a flat blend film with action scene you can bearly see, with a flat climatic ending battle just to bring her to a point to show just how powerful she is.

Brie Larson just isnt the right fit for this role she has a one dimensional acting with no range in her acting which makes her character unappealing or uninspiring, when the film could've built her character up to get the power midway through the film instead of having them at the beginning it would have been a more inspiring scene toward the end when she got the full control of her powers.

Don't get me started with the music in the fight scene, I mean come on playing a  Gwen Stefani song in a battle scene, who bright idea was that because they just truly ruin that fight scene, it felt like they knew this film was rushed and bad so they just throw a bunch of stuff without even thinking of making a great story that inspiring

Overall: Uninspiring, Bland rush story, Cat stole this film comedy.

Rating: 4.2 out of 5 for Entertainment / 5.8 out of 10 for the concept.
