Story: Pete's Dragon' is a 2016 remake of the 1977 film of the same title. The story revolves around a young orphaned boy named Pete who befriends a dragon that he nicknames Elliot. One day, Pete, who lives alone in the forest, is picked up by a family living in a nearby town. Elliot leaves the forest in search of Pete and finds that the world outside of the forest is far more dangerous.

Likes : WOW all my childhood memory came flooding back watching this film , beautifully done with amazing cinematography of new Zealand beautiful land scape & forest with beautiful shots that just made this film look beautiful.

Those who were born in the 70's or grow up in the 80's would remember the original live action animated Pete dragon film which at the time was a brilliant film, starring Sean Marshall as the young boy Pete & Elliott the dragon voice by Charlie Callas was a truly magical film for it time.

This remake bring all that magic back & double it from the get go, the moment you see the dragon just tear flood your eye as a heart warming moment between child & beast just melts your heart & the way it was shot was truly one the most memorable moments in film history.
The dragon itself remember me of the dragon from never-ending story Falkor only green & with wing , the way it behave like a dog & playful nature was the best move they did give the dragon Elliott a personality that everyone will love. The film also give us some funny moments, which even i laughed at which is great for this type of film, although it did start off a little dark at the beginning the film quickly become this magical adventure with this friendship bond between a boy & a dragon that give a special feeling of how family is the most important thing in life.

This truly is one of the best film's this year with soul & alot of heart , normally with family film's like this you would think it to be a tear jerker but it truly is, by the end of the film your gonna be in tears on just how heart felt & heart warming this film is when you see moments with Pete & Elliot the flood works just open.

The C.G.I visuals on the dragon are amazing give the dragon a facial expression just added to the magic of the film, although with it casting just made this film a hole lot better than expected. Scene with Karl urban in the forest was some of the funniest moments in the film, he done amazing acting there, along with Wes Bentley play the timber-log company owner Jack family man with park ranger grace who's played by the beautiful Bryce Dallas Howard who amazing and child like fascination with Elliot really add that tone of family togetherness.
Oakes Fegley main lead child star done an incredible performance of a young boy with a tragic event in his life brave young boy that faced the dangerous of the forest & befriended the most heart warming & emotional scenes with the dragon Elliot he has a bright future in the film industry.

Welcome edition to this film grace father
Meacham played brilliant by Robert Redford who tell of the encounter he once had really gave this film more depth, special with the film's back ground story of the legend

"look deep in to the forest to the tallest tree where the three river meet , head north from there to the snow mountain that's where the dragons will be"

Such a beautiful song of folklore which adds mystery & balance to this film that i can not fault this film , it very rare we get a film that that has a lot of heart & soul put into it story i wish all film's where like this because film like this are rare with today movies.

This is a film i highly recommend taking your kids to watch or the family, it is a little dark to begin with but not to dark it scary but quickly become a heart felt story your family will enjoy watching.
Dislikes : The only thing about this film is it does feel just a little short but brilliant film.

Overall : Fantastic film magic adventure of a bond between boy & dragon in the heart of new Zealand land scape. Truly heart felt story that the family will love for generations.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 9.5 out of 10 for remake.
