Story: When a successful New York advertising executive suffers a great tragedy, he retreats from life. While his concerned friends try desperately to reconnect with him, he seeks answers from the universe by writing letters to Love, Time and Death. But it's not until his notes bring unexpected personal responses that he begins to understand how these constants interlock in a life fully lived, and how even the deepest loss can reveal moments of meaning and beauty.
Likes : Wow this truly is one of those film's that the critics have got so wrong , with the concept of what you think is going on with these characters who hire actors to do certain thing to help their friend aren't who they appear to be & the ending of this film cleverly reveal this.
But OMG this film had me in tears from start to finish with such an emotional heart rench pull of you heart heavily content you can't help but be in tears with , the whole story is about loss & trying to reconnect with this world after losing something you love.
With this concept of life three things that are a distraction , but these thing connect every single human being on earth , love , time & Death. We long for love & to be loved , We wish we had more time because time is short & we fear death. This is actually brilliantly woven in the film concept which people might not pick up on.
Will Smith is just outstanding in his performance playing someone that use's to love life to the full until a sudden loss sent him in a downward spiral of depression & despair , he just completely shut the world out.
Thing about this character that Will Smith is playing is that i can relate to concept in some way because when you do loss someone you love its a hard thing to take no matter how people try to comfort you or try to help you ; you can't seem to come to terms with it because thinking about it hurts emotionally.
This is the way Will Smith portray this on screen with a perfect performance giving a believe character going through hell trying to find a way to understand & reconnect with the world around him. It's this performance that brings you to tears because you can really feel the emotion of a father that lost someone close to his heart.
The film it's self has a point & purpose that reflects life in general as we all deal with grief , depression , sadness & loneliness in our own ways , life is truly hard sometimes for people the way this film does is give's you the message of stop trying to make them see your way but to see through their eye instead this is the way to help them.
Edward Norton , Kate Winslet & Michael Peña put in some of the best performances ive seen in a film , as they play the Howard Inlet (Will) friends & co-workers trying to help him in their own kind of selfish way , but unknown to them who they hired arnt who they appear to be , the help they are trying to give Howard is the help they need as well.
It give the film a clever but sutal twist which is well hidden in this film as it disguises what is actually going on. Throughout this whole film there are moments that just have you in tears emotionally as some scene in this film just are so upsetting to hear it pull on your heart.
It's these moment's that do in fact impact some people's lives , its hard for them to speak out which is another thing this film does as it not just around Howard life there are others in this film which bring the tear jerker moments.
I can understand why some people didnt like this film because they felt it was boring or just too slow but its a drama film with heart & tear jerker moments that truly does touch your heart. If your one of these people that dont like these types of drama film then clearly this film isnt for you.
But Every negative review for this film is only someone opinion to which seriously dont listen to them because this film is one of the best drama film's ive seen will smith do , with it casting as well special from Helen Mirren who was brilliant as death trying to give a message to Howard about the understanding of death , Jacob Latimore who is brilliant as time , Keira Knightley perfect for love all three done a brilliant job.
But here the thing with this these three arnt who they appear to be unless your listening to the dialog of each character you will miss the clue of who they really are , this is something i pick up on with they way they were saying things , but this film cleverly throws you off which is brilliant.
I couldn't faultier this film if i tried , its such a beauty & emotional film to watch that reflect life perfect in so many ways you could watch a more finer drama than this.
Dislikes : Nothing wrong with this film
Overall : Emotional tear jerker movie , bring the tissues to dry your eyes, this is a film that will hit your heart.
