After successfully protecting the planet for two years, something is starting to go wrong. Two estranged brothers are tasked with solving the program's malfunction before a worldwide Geo-storm can engulf the planet

Likes : Now this is how you write a brilliant action disaster film by adding a twist to make it a thriller film as well, which give this film more than the typical "oh god the world is gonna end" scenario that most of these are types of film and audience alike have seen before in this type of genre.

What makes this stand out more is giving this movie a good standing point background on climate change, which set up the story and gives the reason for the weather control satellite to be built which give the audience detailed weather technology. Which gives this film a better understanding to watch as the film progress.

With its visual effect that is amazingly done in showing a cross between films like "Day After Tomorrow","2012" and many other's as the earth is thrown into a "Geostorm". But this is no ordinary disaster as the film's director with good writers have made a sold storyline giving this film that entertainment value that grips you to the seat.

What we see from the trailer is that it shows us a natural disaster thriller that seems to be like every other disaster film, but what it doesn't show is a major conspiracy subplot twist in the film as well that actually keep you guess to who is involved in this situation and why?.

This coupled with an amazing soundtrack from Lorne Balfe who's work sounds very simalur to Han Zimmer movie soundtracks, gave this film some emotional touches in certain scenes. Along with the acting performance that gave this film believable characters as well, this film was just amazing all around.

The chemistry between Jim Sturgess and Abbie Cornish is brilliant as they play off each other as a couple in the film, which is always good in a film give's a believe concept of a couple on screen. The only slight gripe is that Jim Sturgess and Gerard Butler chemistry as brothers were slightly a little flat but still kind of belief with what was going on between there character is easily forgivable.

But Gerard Butler is the main star of this film being the bad ass he normal is in most films, he play's Jake Lawson the design of the space station and satellites relay, where the main CPU for the satellites get change and launched from.

It with his character we come to understand what is happening with the satellite malfunction as he uncovers what going on through most of the film, which cleverly keeps you guess as certain people throughout the film give the audience this suspicious attitude toward things which is great in keep you on your toes and grip to the screen.

If there was a film to watch this year that you would've thought to be just a typical boring disaster film, gladly to say this is not one of those films as it's a highly entertaining film with a plot twist that keeps this film entertaining. This is a film I highly recommend the movie and a must to watch.

Dislikes: Some visual effect like in space were slightly off but not enough to take the audience out of the movie

Overall: Great plot twist, brilliant concept, visuals are brilliant and the action and performance are spots on. a must to watch.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for Entertainment / 9 out of 10 for Concept.
