Story: When an elite crime squad's lead detective investigates the disappearance of a victim on the first snow of winter, he fears an elusive serial killer may be active again. With the help of a brilliant recruit, the cop must connect decades-old cold cases to the brutal new one if he hopes to outwit this unthinkable evil before the next snowfall.

Likes: When you think of the snowman you think of the Raymond Briggs heartwarming festive classic snowman with the theme soundtrack song walking in the air, but nope this is no such film. Rather than being a Classic festive film, this is more of a gripping adaptation of Norwegian author Jo Nesbo's chilling bestseller of the same name.

Helmed by director Tomas Alfredson ( who jointly won the best British film award at the 2012 BAFTAs for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), with the script by world war z's Matthew Michael Carnahan, the plot center around Michael Fassbender's character Harry Hole, a top detective tasked with an investigation into a mysterious death of a married mother during the first snowfall of winter.

With the help of Rookie recruit Katrine Bratt played by the gorgeous Rebecca Ferguson (Mission Impossible Rogue Nation), both Harry and Katrine stumble cross a connection from a past murder as it take's them both down a dark path of discovery trying to hunt down a serial killer that seems to be one step ahead of them.

Along with tremendous supporting cast from Val Kilman (who is almost unrecognizable after having throat cancer), Chloe Sevigny, J.K Simmons and Toby Jones, this film is a gripping retelling of an unputdownable book if you dare to read. Although the film is slow to start with there is moment this film gets extremely dark and psychological special when a serial killer has a fetish for making some pretty twisted things.

You can tell this is more of a British made film set in Norwegian background with the beautiful visual cinematography of the mountain ranges and towns, really set the tone for a serial killer movie and motives to kill in the most twisted way possible. Although this film is good sadly it not without it flaw's, So this might not be a film for everyone as its a pretty average film for the style of movie.

Dislikes: Watch the whole film it felt a little short like something had been taken out in the editing progress of the film like scene have been taken out making the film feel a little short.

There is the certain scene that feels like they down add together like the scene before is missing something which doesn't help it slow pace.

Overall: Dark, gripping, a little predictable in places but does try its best to throw you off. good acting.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for Entertainment / 7 out of 10 for the concept.
