Story: A biologist's husband disappears. She puts her name forward for an expedition into an environmental disaster zone but does not find what she's expecting. The expedition team is made up of the biologist, an anthropologist, a psychologist, a surveyor, and a linguist.
Likes: Annihilation is very haunting and beautiful film with a very complex story that pretty confusing at time with the way the story comes across, especially highlighted by an awesomely haunting score and some breathtaking visuals this film can be pretty trippy.
The story itself is interesting, but it's definitely slow-paced throughout, and the climax is much more of an intellectual payoff than a spectacular action, which is what makes this a very complex film which most viewers will find hard to understand. Which is probably why the film has got a great reception which is a shame but the film is definitely weird and complex, which most viewers are gonna hate.
There is the moment in this film where it gets intense and a little disturbing, in a psychological horror type of way but not so much in a way it gets under your skin, it more of the screw with your mind film. Natalie Portman delivers a staggering performance and one that manages to stand out against the engulfing nature of her environment, special when that environment is so rich, terrifying, and mystifying that kind of make this film dare I say a Sci-fi Masterpiece.
Not to say this film is an Ambitious one which most audience may hate but is one of those intriguing films you just have to watch, special with it ending that opens up so many paths to take if a sequel was ever to be done. Definitely, a film that will have people talking at the end it, if you love dark mysterious sci-fi this is one to watch cant really say much without giving away the story, so I'll leave that up to the audience to watch.
Dislikes: I can see why people may not like this, as the film is complex, weird and very hard to understand which I have noticed that film does have multiple angles in evolution which does complicate the story somewhat unless you can understand it. This may be why most people found it hard to understand.
Overall: Dark, rich, terrifying, and mystifying film, great acting, very intense complex story.
Rating: 5 out of 5 for Entertainment / 8.9 out of 10 for the concept.

Turns out A Knight’s Tale was a silly dumb comedy, about in the same league as Airplane II (the sequel, not the original, which was fairly inventive and still remains very quotable). I scratched my head for a while, until learning that the studio got caught hiring a fake critic to write up a fake adulatory review. Apparently it was monkey see, monkey do with the “top critics,”> Reviews annihilation 2018
ReplyDeletewho all sang the praises for this “innovatively charming” and “brilliantly irreverent” film. With actors like Heath Ledger and Paul Bettany, it couldn’t stink too much, but it was such an intentional goofball flick, an 8+ rating just did not make sense. Over the years, the rating for AKT has steadily dropped to a more reasonable 6.9.
