Story: On highways across America, a tribe of people called The True Knot travel in search of sustenance. They look harmless-mostly old, lots of polyesters, and married to their RVs.
But as Dan Torrance knows, and tween Abra Stone learns, The True Knot are quasi-immortal, living off the "steam" that children with the "shining" produce when they are slowly tortured to death. Haunted by the inhabitants of the Overlook Hotel where he spent one horrific childhood year, Dan has been drifting for decades, desperate to shed his father's legacy of despair, alcoholism, and violence. Finally, he settles in a New Hampshire town, an AA community that sustains him, and a job at a nursing home where his remnant "shining" power provides the crucial final comfort to the dying.
Aided by a prescient cat, he becomes "Doctor Sleep." Then Dan meets the evanescent Abra Stone, and it is her spectacular gift, the brightest shining ever seen, that reignites Dan's own demons and summons him to a battle for Abra's soul.

Likes: Never thought Stephen king would do a Sequel to a film that he hated the ended to, but after viewing this film it explains everything about the hotel and it spirits trapped inside. The original Masterpiece by Stanley Kubrick left the first film with a alot of question, which im pretty sure alot of people that have watched it was left with an unanswered question, well this sequel actually answer some of those questions.

Though I would have loved to have seen Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall in a cameo role in this film, I think they did pretty well with the look-alikes, while the film does show the past as it set up the story, we see Danny Lloyd all grown-up played brilliantly by Ewan McGregor

I have to say its a damn near perfect film to the shinning that make you heart thump from scene to scene especially when you think the film is gonna be little tame, the film actually went there with the most disturbing scene ive seen in a long while which really adds to the film tone and it becomes serious film that not messing around.

Rebecca Ferguson looking sexy as hell with a strong powerful presence was a revelation as She does some horrific things throughout this film, her presence and her performance though this film is just outstanding in this film. Kyleigh Curran absolutely kills it as Abra Stone. Her confidence on-screen just radiates and provides not only a compelling character but one that is able to match both Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson with some serious jaw-dropping supernatural powers.

The critics calling it the best Stephan King adaptation since the shining, I would have to agree this film opens up a new direction and universe to the shinning in a whole new supernatural world that expands beyond the hotel. The way they Re-capture the ominous hotel in the mountain where it all began is outstanding, giving it a less clean, abandoned look which adds the Hotel haunting tone, as we given a return back to the hotel.

If there is a film you should be watching this Holloween Doctor sleep the sequel to the shinning is what I recommend watching as it damn near perfect sequel to the original film.

Dislikes: The only problem I hate which I think is the cinema Projector problem was overexposure of the film itself seems the light and sharpness of the film were off like it had double exposure oily mark grain on the film, though the film was still watchable.

Though I felt the ending was slighty weak, it does open the film to a multiverse style film like I said beyond the hotel.

Overall: Damn near perfect, Outstanding performance, Sets up a multiverse perfect, a must watch

Rating: 5 out of 5 for Entertainment / 9.2 out of 10 for a sequel
