Story: More than two decades have passed since Sarah Connor prevented Judgment Day, changed the future, and re-wrote the fate of the human race. Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes) is living a simple life in Mexico City with her brother (Diego Boneta) and father when a highly advanced and deadly new Terminator - a Rev-9 (Gabriel Luna) - travels back through time to hunt and kill her.
Dani's survival depends on her joining forces with two warriors: Grace (Mackenzie Davis), an enhanced super-soldier from the future, and a battle-hardened Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). As the Rev-9 ruthlessly destroys everything and everyone in its path on the hunt for Dani, the three are led to a T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) from Sarah's past that may be their last best hope.

Likes:  If you expect me to praise this film and act like this film was a 10 out of 10 film, just because it is a female lead, you can stop reading now!. I'm not some incel that praises a film just because it a female lead like a feminist, I'm giving an objective view of this film as there are parts that we're good but there were parts of this film really sucks badly.

Now I'm not gonna full say this film was Good because it no-where near the standard of the First two film, though you can say better than T3, salvation, and Genesis even that's not a compliment on the film because it was still bad in a lot of places. I'll give credit where credit is due  Mackenzie Davis did well in her performance playing a soldier from the future sent back to save Dani, while most would say that she acts like a man, you have to realize that there are women in the armed forces as well, so she does pull off the solider look.

While the main highlight of the film was the original cast returning like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton back in the action trying to save someone, it does feel as if these two are carrying the film, while I don't disagree that Gabriel Luna's Rev 9 terminator wasn't frightening, he did give some hint to why he's the deadliest terminator which was because of his speed and ability to split himself, he kind of bog down with the way the writing is for this film.

Which the action and Score for the film gave some entertainment to watch, you can't help feeling let down by this film story and bad casting choices, which sadly this film is disappointing not on a female perspective but the story, as I said Arnold and Linda carried the film this is where sadly the flaws come in below.

Dislikes:
  • Whoever wrote the screen or the story clearly never watched Terminator 2 because a scene in T2 mention that Liquid metal terminator can't create a complex moving object such as booms or gun's, yet in dark fate clear showing Rev-9 materializing his hand into a gun which makes no sense what so ever and undermines what was said in T2.

  • Yes, I got what they were trying to create here with the events of T2 create a paradox changing history and wiping Skynet from history but creating a new AI system called legion. But the whole story feels absolute rushed and so forced just to get a Female to replace john as the future leader, even the worst Natalia Reyes while I say she is a great actress at a lot of things, but she is badly miscast in this film because she just not compelling enough, some of the lines she gave across were just god awful that because of the way her character has been written.

  • She should have been given better character scripting and a better role in this film, it could have worked, I still say this they shouldn't have killed John Connor in this film, Dani should have been written in as Reese's mother and her character should have been written better for it  would've made more sense.

  • The Biggest flaw of all the shoot range scene which is in the trailer, who in the hell thought that was a good idea "like come on" clearly Dani shows that she can't shoot for shit missing every target, but then 2 seconds later after getting a bigger gun she can shoot two target pinpoint accuracy where suppose to believe in this character is the future leader.

  • The worst of all scene with the Rev-9 trying to make a joke, are you kidding me, its meant to be a god-damn terminator with no emotional, you write in the script " oh sorry about your shed" seriously! A terminator would not apologize for breaking something because a terminator is not supposed to have emotion it's a machine.

  • Weakness part of this film is the fact there is no character development with Dani was just thrown in straight away we don't know anything about whom Dani is? What type of person she is? What her family is like or her brother. It's like this film has just forced this feminist propaganda to replace male leads for female, not giving a damn to make Dani character compelling which has completely dragged this film down and completely messes with the lure.

  • Half the films CGI is just god awful really shows just how lazy this film has been done, it saddens me to see the terminator franchise come to this when we could have had a 10 out of 10 terminator film that follows john's lure and have Natalia Reyes play Kyle Reese, mother, it would have been a better film sadly it not I'm probably not the only one disappointed.

Overall:
  • Not the best Terminator film since T2, expect incel to insult for disliking it, could've been better writen

Rating: 4.2 out of 5 Entertainment / 6.1 out of 10 for T3 disaster of a film
