Frightening/Intense Scenes: This film contains scene that are extremely intense & frightening that some viewers may find disturbing.
Story: In Louisiana,Detective Mark Lewis is summoned to attend a call from the notorious Livingston House and he finds three bodies and one survivor, John, who is in shock. He calls for backup and also the police psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Klein to interrogate John. They learn that the team of ghost-busters Bryan, John's pregnant girlfriend Michelle, Jules, Donnie and Sam decided to perform a seance in the house, where the owner Marta Livingstone had committed a violent slaughter, to summon their spirits. The seance went wrong and released evil spirits that killed Jules, Donnie and Sam; however Michelle and Bryan are missing. While Elizabeth interrogates John, Mark and the technical team tries to retrieve the hard disks with the footage's from the house to find where the other two survivors may be, Detective Lewis discloses a dark supernatural secret about John.
Likes: When it come to alot of Horror film there usually a few dud film that are watered down or give such a low certification the film ends up being a really bad film. When it come to Off the main stream horror from the IPF side of filming sometime you find a film so when casted it ends up actually being good which is very rare.
Demonic is no acceptation here there is a slight flaw which i cant really go into without giving spoilers away but it really doesnt effect the film in any way, just on the way the film has been casted and the budget it been given make it above average film.
Normal when it come to films like this where a group of young people, trying to find something to prove the paranormal exist, you tend to find these film predictable. While the film does do this back forth with the past and present which you may find a little disjointed, because of this you might not like the film, but the film itself is actually really good.
Frank Grillo who plays Detective Mark Lewis get a call to response to a Disturbance in the local area only to find a truly messed up scene with body everywhere and one lone survivor which he called in Dr. Elizabeth Klein played by Maria Bello to find the truth on whats going on, its after this where the film truly kick in with a Very intense and disturbing nightmare as things are discovered about whats going on it take the audience into a dark and intense atmosphere.
While the film does give you sutal hints here and their as we see the tape record video play out, the film does this very clever thing of hiding whats going on until the very end of the film, which actually was a really good twist in the film.
If you like horror film with a better cast and good acting you could do no wrong with this film, it give the dark creepy atmosphere that is so need, along with great acting and great direction. The film give you some really creepy dark moments, while giving you some scares here and there which give the film a very dark edge which is great for this film.
Like i said this is no low budget film, it does have some Hollywood style to the film, while keep the film in a off main stream horror films that actually pretty good, even for James wans to present it he done some amazing dark horrors.
Ya this is a horror i can recommend with a well casted film with great acting, great direction with a great twist.
Dislikes: While the film does have a slight flaw i can really explain it because is would be giving away a massive plot in the film story.
Overall: Great acting, great horror film, good direction, dark atmospheric mood.
