Story: In a small New Mexico town, a 17-year-old high school girl who just got her driver's license gets into her first fender bender, innocently exchanging her personal information with an apologetic stranger. Later that stormy night, she is joined in her desolate suburban home by a couple of her school friends who try their best to make a night out of it, only to be visited by the stranger she so willingly handed all of her information to -- a terrifying and bizarre serial killer who stalks the country's endless miles of roads and streets with his old rusty car, hungrily searching for his next unsuspecting victim
Likes : First of all im not gonna attempt in saying Mark Pavia is a master of horror when he's only done 5 films in his career , not saying this film wasn't great just saying this guy has nothing on Tody hopper, Clive barker & Stephen king when it comes to horror film.
Although this film was good in some ways you cant really help in wonder if there should've been more to this film though , i mean the story is a simple one that give a throwback to the old slau...ghter / slasher teen horror films of the 80s where one killer prey on the victims they are hunting.
So there isn't much to expect with this film to be honest , yes it good at the throw back as it does this well in portraying the old 80s style horror films but lack the story which lets it down.
The acting is OK & the killer is very creepy , some what disturbing with some what of the typical slasher horror scene you normally have in a film of this style.
What does stand out more is the film soundtrack, it has that Tody hopper feel to the film which works , special when we see the main killer character the music sets the tone, with a very 80s style.
For me to say ya this was a perfect film sadly no , it may appeal more to people who love this style of filming but sadly this film was a one time view for me as there were more than a few flaws & missing opportunity to make this film good.
This is a love or hate film in my verdict you may or may not like this film as it just a simple film nothing special.
Dislikes : The film was good at giving the throwback of the 80s but seriously lack in story like it was way too short of a film, it could of had a bigger builded up & a better ending. Some of the characters writing kind of made the character look dumb as hell, like they deserve to be killed because of the way they've been written , not that the acting wasn't great, it was just the character scripting that lets this down
Overall : One time view unless you like this film, Great throwback 80s style slasher.
Rating: 4.1 out of 5 for entertainment / 5.2 out of 10 for concept
