Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.
Sex & Nudity: Sexual activity is portrayed on several occasions, but justified by context, infrequent and without strong detail.
The film contains several sexual scenes, the strongest of which takes place behind a frosted shower cubicle where a man can be seen thrusting a bare-breasted woman while holding her against the glass wall.
Other sexual scenes include one where a man is seen thrusting a woman from behind in the woods; a woman touching herself in her crotch in front of her therapist before the scene cuts to her riding someone in bed, and a scene featuring a far shot of a man's back as he thrusts against a woman from behind.
Given that the sexual positions are fairly explicit with some details of nudity visible, they would be more appropriate for an older audience.
Violence & Gore: The film features some scenes of violence, mostly in the form of flashbacks experienced by the female protagonist where she seems to recall herself inflicting pain and injury on various women, as well as scenes of a man hitting the female protagonist.
Some of the stronger scenes include one where the female protagonist stabs a man in the side of his neck with a penknife before another woman twists the penknife further into the man's neck as he lies on the ground.
Profanity: The film features the frequent use of the expletive "f**k", as well as a single utterance of the stronger expletive "motherf**ker", used by the main characters mostly out of anger and/or frustration.
Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Main characters are drinking.
Frightening/Intense Scenes: Based on the novel of the same title by Paula Hawkins, 'The Girl On The Train' is a psychological thriller about Rachel, a recovering alcoholic, whose husband left her for another woman. She begins to obsessively watch a couple who lives near her previous marital home, imagining the perfect life they must lead. However, one day, as the train passes the house, Rachel sees something that fills her with rage and turns her world upside down.
Story: The Girl on the Train is the story of Rachel Watson's life post-divorce. Every day, she takes the train in to work in New York, and every day the train passes by her old house. The house she lived in with her husband, who still lives there, with his new wife and child. As she attempts to not focus on her pain, she starts watching a couple who live a few houses down -- Megan and Scott Hipwell. She creates a wonderful dream life for them in her head, about how they are a perfect happy family. And then one day, as the train passes, she sees something shocking, filling her with rage. The next day, she wakes up with a horrible hangover, various wounds and bruises, and no memory of the night before. She has only a feeling: something bad happened. Then come the TV reports: Megan Hipwell is missing. Rachel becomes invested in the case and trying to find out what happened to Megan, where she is, and what exactly she herself was up to that same night Megan went missing.
Likes : Emily Blunt beautiful & talented actress as always should win an Oscar for her performance , outstanding performance all the way playing a woman on the edge of destruction through being an alcoholic because of certain situation in her life as she draw her self in to a mysterious disappearance of someone that leads down a dangerous road to an uninspected person you wouldn't think off.
The film is a remake from Paula Hawkins novel (The girl on the train) following a woman who struggle with alcohol who get caught up in a murder case. What clever about this film is it doesn't give away who done it , it make you think & actually make you use you brain as your trying to work out which one is guilty , it clever because it throws you off because the moment you think you know who it is, it shifts to another person throwing you off the sent.
This is what make this film actually good as it keep you glue to the film for every moment that going as you trying to figure out who it is. Haley Bennett (Magnificent 7 / The Equalizer ) beautiful actress, her performance on screen is amazing playing a young vulnerable woman that make bad choices in her life that ultimately cause her demise. She come off on screen playing this role perfect.
Rebecca Ferguson (Mission impossible rogue nation / Hercules) Brilliant actress very beautiful , kind of playing a side character / cameo as she does have that many scenes playing a mother & wife to Emily character's ex husband played by Justin Theroux who play a brilliant ex husband. Her performance as a loving mother was brilliant on screen the blonde hair actually suits Rebecca, The way she comes off on screen is brilliant as we start to see her character more we notice she start to become more suspicious of things which make the story more interesting as thing start to add up.
Luke Evans Brilliant actor (Dracula untold / no one lives) Some thing Luke Evans acting skill show that he adapts to any role given , he come off on screen brilliant playing those edge dark personality roles. The way he come off in this film really works for the film as he comes across is a little dark which does make you think through the whole film did he actually do it. It reminds me of gone girl is someway with the way this film is done it works for the film concept.
I would recommend this film to people that loved gone girl as it has that same psychological thriller concept to it that keeps you guess & throws you off at certain point, although this film is good there are some flaws in the story.
Dislikes : The pacing is slightly slow but that ok because it need to build the tension in the film & tell the story , but one thing with this film i did notice was the fact it felt a little too short, like it was missing certain areas that could of been improved a bit more could of had a more dark tone to keep the film a little darker. But still it a great film to watch despite these flaws.
Overall : Compelling story keep the audience guess all the way through doesn't reveal anything until the very last moments of the film.
