Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: A husband and wife kiss briefly. No sex or nudity.

Violence & Gore:
  • There is sight of dead bodies, sometimes with bloody injury detail, as well as sight of very heavily decomposed corpses.
  • In one scene it is suggested a man has gouged out his own eyes, although the gouging is not shown.
  • In another scene it is suggested that a woman has cut off her own fingers, under the influence of a supernatural entity.
  • There are scenes of strong and sometimes bloody violence, when people are forced to kill others by a supernatural entity, or when they take their own lives in order to get away from the entity.
  • In one scene a woman holds a child under bath water in order to drown the child and in another a man's limbs are broken and contorted after he is pushed down a staircase.
  • There are references to suicide and assisted dying, but always in a supernatural context where the suicides are motivated by people wanting to get away from the supernatural entity.
  • Lots of bloody, shocking death scenes with several decayed corpses shown throughout the film.
  • Two decayed corpses are shown. One is of a woman, who has been dead for months, in the drivers seat of a car that had crashed into a tree. We see that her arm has been broken and her skin is decaying from her face and entire body. The other corpse is of a man covered in blood with maggots squirming all over his face, which has been partially eaten by the maggots. Extremely disturbing.

Profanity:
  • There is infrequent use of strong language ('f**k').
  • The profanity is infrequent and mostly mild, but there are one or two F-words.
  • Infrequent moderate profanity.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: A man is smokes cigarettes throughout the film. In one scene he offers one to a woman, who declines, though she ends up smoking a cigarette later in the film

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  There are a number of scenes of strong threat and horror, including regular 'jump' scares, as an entity suddenly appears behind people, or out of the shadows, and grabs at them.
There are also sequences of suspense in which people enter a haunted house and other darkened spaces to investigate supernatural sounds and movements.

Story: After a young housewife murders her family in her own house, a single mother and young detective tries to investigate and solve the case. Later, she discovers the house is cursed by a vengeful ghost that dooms those who enter it with a violent death. Now, she runs to save herself and her son from demonic spirits from the cursed house in her neighborhood.

Likes: Watching the original films which have had remakes after remakes which most of them were  good to ok, there is actually alot of vs movies done with the Grudge, Going into this film i had low expectations to be honest you can tell this is a january horror film.

There are area of this film that actually good with the atmosphere, direction is some what good, the acting is solid, but there isnt anything i can honest say this film was good.

Dislikes: I get the direction they were going with the flash backs trying to get back stories on previous victims which was going in a good direction but some how this film fails on so many levels of a horror.

This film was extremely over predictable where you can see everything coming a mile off, which make the scary parts of the film feel so redundant and a waste of time, which the some part of the film is creepy the film is set up so poorly it beyond bad writing.

This couple with extremely poor pacing when the film tries to kick in, im not joking around it was a total boar feast to the point i was almost falling asleep watching this film, a horror film is meant to be creepy, atmospheric and keep you on the edge of your seat, this film fail within 10 mins of the film is become a Slow boring hardly anything happening with no plot point.

The film doesnt follow it own rules, like it tell you that only a few people that view the place, yet there would have been more it just doesnt make sense. The ending of the film leave the Audience with was that it moment show that this was poorly written, poorly executed with a slow pace it was an absolute boar feast with jump scares you can see coming a mile off that just wasn't frightening.

Seriously do not listen to the people saying this film is good, it not good its a typical january film that is so bad it just been dump in a month where film go to die. I honest what to like this film, it had potential to be good but it was a seriously failure to execute a poor script film that was way to predictable, with pointless flash backs that are just their to fill in the story.

This is a film i can not recommend, seriously do not waste your money, if you want to watch this wait for it come out on dvd and rent it that how bad this film truly is

Overall: Absolute boar feast, poor scripting, bad writing, waste of a horror remake

Rating: 2 out of 5 for Entertainment / 2 out of 10 for horror remake.
