Sex & Nudity: A few kisses

Violence & Gore:

  • A lot of violence was edited for the PG-13 rating.

  • The movie features some brutal war violence but most of it is either edited or off-screen.

  • Katniss is shot. We see her fall to the ground and we later see her swollen stomach. The shooting is brief and her injury is also very briefly shown

  • A building is blown up, killing two women inside. We see this from a distance.

  • A young man shoves an older man into a wave of tar. Suddenly, a barbed wire net pops out of the tar, yanks him up and leaves him hanging. We hear the clink of the metal blades and his quick shriek of pain as it freezes in the air.

  • The aftermath of the tar wave is seen and it is disturbing. We see the net containing the body of the man stiff with icicles of frozen tar hanging from it. The body inside is seen covered in the tar and mushed up. Another body of a man mushed up and trashed against a step is seen blurred in the background.

  • The entire sewer sequence is not only one of the most violent parts of the movie, but also very frightening. Lots of people are tackled by odd lizard-like mutations called 'mutts.' A man is jumped on by several of the mutts and dragged down into the water. His death is not seen, but it is implied that he did not make it out alive. He is heard screaming as his allies run away.

  • A woman is tackled by the mutts. Another woman fires an explosive arrow at the creatures causing a huge explosion. Her death is implied but nothing is shown.

  • In one of the most tragic moments of the movie, a man is chased by several mutts as his friends watch from a ladder above. He is bitten on the shoulder and dragged into a knee-deep water. Mutts jump in after him and we hear him roar in pain from offscreen. His friend sets off an explosion to end his gruesome pain which instantly kills him.

  • A man loses his legs in an explosion. There is no blood or any gore whatsoever, but it is just as horrific the way it is all implied. We see several shots of his face as he dies.

  • A young woman shoots a government official straight through the heart. She falls off a metre high podium and we see a long shot of her dead body, a long stream of blood pouring down the stone slabs.

  • A man is seen coughing up blood onto tissues several times throughout the movie. He eventually dies from a combination of getting beat up by a crowd and by laughing up blood. We see a very brief shot of little blood in his mouth at his death.

  • Tons of children are seen reaching up for small parachutes filled with 'gifts' and 'medicine.' These end up being bombs. We can clearly see their hands just tip them as they blow up. A character is rocked backwards in the explosive and stands up moments later. In a few seconds, another explosion knocks her back and she is lit on fire. We get a long shot of her coat smothered in flames as she blankly stares up at the sky.

Profanity:  None.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking:

  • In one scene, Johanna takes Katniss' morphling IV from Katniss' arm and connects it into her own.

  • A character talks about stealing drugs

Frightening/Intense Scenes:

  • Mockingjay Part 2 is truly the darkest, intense and the most emotional chapter in the series.

  • The Scene where, the capitol children and Prim gets bombed is one of the hardest and emotional scenes in the film, although it doesn't show any blood or gore, the after math of the dead bodies and parents holding them in their arms is heartbreaking.

  • The scene between Katniss and Buttercup is emotional.

  • A jump scare occurs in a dark tunnel

  • The death scenes are very intense and disturbing.

Story: After young Katniss Everdeen agrees to be the symbol of rebellion, the Mockingjay, she tries to return Peeta to his normal state, tries to get to the Capitol, and tries to deal with the battles coming her way...but all for her main goal; assassinating President Snow and returning peace to the Districts of Panem. As her squad starts to get smaller and smaller, will she make it to the Capitol? Will she get revenge on Snow? Or will her target change? Will she be with her "Star-Crossed Lover", Peeta? Or her long time friend, Gale? Deaths, Bombs, Bows and Arrows, A Love Triangle, Hope. What will happen?

Likes : I've been following these film since they first hit ours screen's, i wasn't really a fan at first but i came to actually like these film although the first part of the mocking jay was lacking in that action & spark the second film had.

I feel as if this film shouldn't of been split in two parts, it would have been better to have just left it as one whole film really but this was just my opinion. This second part was slightly better than the first part of the film because it had all the action parts, although some scenes were predictable as you could see them coming but for some reason one scene even though predictable as you could see the set up coming the still made me jump out of my chair lol.

I think this scene in the tunnels was a great idea for the film adding tension & intense moments making the film a bit more entertaining with it slow pacing, but i will say they gave the ending of this final film of the franchise a perfect ending to end on.

Dislikes : I feel as if this film made the bad choice of splitting the film in two, it should have been one whole film instead of two parts it would have looked better on screen

Overall : slightly better than the first part, great ending to the franchise,

Rating: 4.8 out of 5 for entertainment /  8.1 out of 10 for final story.
