Story: Kill Command is a sci-fi action thriller set in a near future, technology-reliant society that pits man against killing machines. Against this backdrop an elite army unit is helicoptered to a remote, off-the-grid island training facility. What starts out as a simple training exercise for Captain Bukes and his tight-knit unit, descends into a terrifying battle to the death, as the marines discover the island is overrun by an enemy that transcends the human concept of evil.
Likes : Here the thing about the IPF industry side of film, with the low budget film, you except the acting to be poor & the story script to be really poor, special from some new unknown directors starting out which you have to understand that they have to start from somewhere.
But every now & then you get the odd film in the IPF industry that is actually good , this is definite exception to that generalization as the acting & story line concept of this film is surprisingly good.
It seem like the director has had some funding for this film with the CGI actually being good making the machines look real , but what is actually good as well is that its not all C.G.I , you notice alot of prop effect like the actual cyber combat machine is actually real.
It look like a lot of work has gone in to make this machine design with alot of wiring to make it look real menacing , the only CGI your seeing is from it moving around which is good , as some of the close up scene where they are actually look like build machines which add a brilliant blend of CGI & real.
The film chirography is brilliant in setting the tone as it look like they filming this film on a old second war base on a remote island , which set the tone there's no where to run. Its a good blend between terminator & chappie in a way these new cybernetic combat machines can self learn from the human soldiers watch there tactics & self evolve to use those tactic against the enemy.
Now this is where this story come in to play as a group of solider are on a routine training excise turn in to a fight for survival as the come up against not just one of these machine by several, it because a intense battle to stay alive until extraction can be made. Now here your thinking OK this is a straight forward story line pretty simple but no the twist in the story is actually good as what seem straight forward seem to have a deadly purpose.
The acting is pretty soldier but dont expect any big name in this film as it a low budget film , but i can assure you this film is actually one of the the odd film to come from the IPF that good.
Dislikes : I think the film could of show a bit more intelligence from the cyber robots, but as it is not bad.
Overall : chappie meets terminator meets robocop in a military sense , good action, good acting.
Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 7.8 out of 10 for concept.
