Sex & Nudity: Note: This is based on the video game series and lore
- There will probably be some romance between Garona and Medivh
Violence & Gore: Note: This is based on the video game series and lore
- There will be some PG-13/R fantasy action and violence, particularly toward the end, where the orcs fight the humans. A man will probably be stabbed by a woman, as in the lore.
- Duncan Jones said he was aiming for a dark, PG-13 rating due to the violent content.
- Epic battle sequences similar to those in Lord of the Rings should be expected. Decapitation, brutality and blood are to be expected
Profanity: Note: This is based on the video game series and lore
In the video game series, there are uses of damn, hell, and ass, with occasional use of bitch. Because of the epic fantasy setting, the language should be similar to such of Lord of the Rings, but because of the source material, other profanities could be used, as described above
Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Lots of people will probably be drinking in some scenes, due to the lore explaining that some races in the video game series drink.
Frightening/Intense Scenes: Expected MPAA Rating: PG-13 for Epic Battle Scenes and Intense Fantasy Violence, and Some Disturbing Images
Story: The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people, and their home.
Likes : Im not gonna say this film is bad not by a long shot yes it has a flaw in it storytelling which i explain in dislikes, im kind of mixed with this film, i didn't walk away dispointed as this film was actually good if you can understand the film.
The visual effect are amazing with the city's , magic & the orc characters & i understand a few scene gave nod to the game , because ive never played the game i would know the basic characters so im going off what ive seen of the film, ive see a few bad review & some good reviews, i think if you a fan of the game & you play the game you will understand this film better.
The acting is spot on not once did i feel the film lost its concept or what was going on, i loved the twist in the story it kind of had double side with the magic corruption thing going on which i fought was clever , the battle scene where well choreograph with the C.G.I green screen effects, when you see the magic being use in the film is awesome really set the tone of what the film is about.
There were alot of moment i this film that i felt emotional because you could really feel for Durotan character played by Toby Kebbell trying to make sure his clan survival & you see a being of humanity in him then a fight orc that what to kill i like that because it gave the film purpose than just have humans fighting orcs.
The story itself if you can understand it from the start has a pretty solid & grounded story which helps the film as well, with a stead pace , The character Medivh was kind of a unusual casting choice Ben Foster but he actually made a convincing sorcerer but i cant really saying much more about without giving away spoilers as his character is apart of the story plot.
The Armour design with the blue & gold of the knights & Armour horse's were incredible done, special with the kinds Armour sliver & gold work well together really makes the film stand out. Ben Schnetzer play the young sorcerer Khadgar pull off a brilliant performance although i feel the film could of use more magic from him.
Anduin Lothar played by Travis Fimmel was a brilliant performance you kind of didn't know what he was thinking half the time because he looked so angry all the time , the emotional scene he had in the film that seriously put a tear to me eye because you could his pain at that moment it was brilliant done in a way it gave the scene more emotional ground which gave the story a bit of a vengeance concept.
People compare this to lord of the rings, it not really a lord of the ring type of film, there is lot more too this story that what lord of the rings had which make it a interest film to watch, i really hope there will be a sequel because it kind of leave open story's to continue which is a good ending with a twist that give you the the emotion you want more. The griffin was the best part of this film such a bad ass way to fly in to battle on the back of a griffin brilliant effect of it look & design.
It's worth checking out dont listen to the bad reviews.
Dislikes : The only problem i see with the film is if that if you have never played the game or know the lure this film can be a little bit hard to understand as it doesn't give you much of a narrative back story to explain what going on your just thrown in to a world of orcs.
This can be a problem for those that have never played the game because without knowing the story this film will be hard to follow. i feel its a film more aim at the fans of Warcraft than the general audience, not to say i didn't understand the story i got a bit of what was going on but this really need to have some narrative at the begin so general audience could understand this film this is why i think this film had gotten bad reviews.
Overall : Great performance , Awesome visual effect, great battle scene with emotion scenes.
Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8.4 out of 10 for story
