Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: A woman is shown lying on a bed in her underwear for a few minutes, before she dresses. Nothing sexual.

  • A woman wears a tight white tank top with a black bra beneath it and shows some cleavage.

  • We see a photo of a woman in a bikini in a magazine.

  • A man tries to steady a woman who nearly fell and another man says, "Keep your hands to yourself. No touching!"

Violence & Gore:

  • A character shows bloody cuts and bruises after surviving a car crash.

  • A briefly-seen character has a bloody and mutilated face, looking as if burned by radiation or chemicals. The dead bodies of two pigs are also shown bearing the same kind of burns.

  • A character is  shot (blood splatters onto the wall and he screams in pain) and then put into a barrel of acid; blood is shown. The barrel containing his body is briefly seen again later. Although the actual shooting is not shown onscreen, this is the most shocking and intense scene in the film.

  • A character is attacked with corrosive acid and is seen later with his face and arm horribly burned.

  • A woman is grabbed and stabbed with a needle that sedates her towards the beginning of the film. Could be disturbing.

  • A character cuts a man's face with a broken bottle and is ordered to stitch up the gash; the surgery is shown.

  • A character tries to stab a person  who is crawling through a metal vent. The knife is viciously thrust through the metal walls a few times, coming very close to the person but no injuries are sustained

Profanity:

  • At least 1 F-word, 4 scatological terms, 6 mild obscenities, 8 religious exclamations (e.g. Oh God.)

  • Name calling (crazy, idiot, circus freak, traitor and pervert) and exclamations (shut-up, shoot and oh my goodness.)

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking:

  • A man injects a woman in the arm with a sedative to knock her out.

  • A man offers a woman some painkillers.

  • A woman packs an unopened bottle of Scotch and leaves her apartment.

  • A man and a woman drink homemade vodka.

  • A man tells a woman that he became drunk one night so he would miss the bus to go to college the next morning.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: A woman gets into a car crash in the beginning of the film; it happens very suddenly and will startle viewers.

The entire final 20 minute sequence is quite intense and scary.

Story: Soon after leaving her fiancé Michelle is involved in a car accident. She awakens to find herself sharing an underground bunker with Howard and Emmett. Has she been saved from an apocalyptic event as Howard & Emmett tell her or are there other motives for her being held against her will?

Likes : I kind of went in to this film with an open mind because i was a little skeptical about this film after the first cloverfield film which i didn't really enjoy , it wasn't the film it's self it was just the way it was done on a home camera.

I will say this the film acting is pretty good throughout the film & John Goodman come off like a very disturbing person on the edge that is trying to survive as well as help others but in the wrong way being very possessive like your just waiting for him to snap.

This is actually what give this film its edge because you have no idea what is going on in the world other them him explaining something as happen , Mary Elizabeth Winstead does a brilliant job with a convince woman that just wake up in a basement not knowing why or how she got there, you start seeing she her character become suspicious of john character adding to the tension of the film.

Now throughout the first & second act of the film your kind of expecting this to be a sequel with alien's yet the first & second act of the film feels more like a thriller , which is good but kind of throws the film off slightly as the this is meant to be sequel.

But then the last 20 mins of the film happen your like OK wasn't expecting that because throughout the whole film like i said felt more of a thriller than a alien film, then you come to actually realise what has really happen in the world since she been in the bunker.

Although this was a good film i do feel though this film could have been done in a different direction, but this is a film that worth watching if you haven't already.

Dislikes : The only problem with this film is that it focused to much on being a thriller more than being a sequel to the first cloverfield , i'm not gonna give spoiler here but the last 20 mins of the film should have been spread out through the film from start to finish. It would have felt more like a sequel than two sperate film's if they did it that way. But that just an opinion

Overall : Great acting, good tension to keep you griped, no a bad film.

Rating: 4.6 out of 5 for entertainment / 7.8 out of 10 for concept
