Frightening/Intense Scenes: There are a few Predator type insect and mutant creatures that give some impressive intense moments, not suitable for young audience.   

Story: Seven years after the Monsterpocalypse, Joel Dawson (Dylan O'Brien), along with the rest of humanity, has been living underground ever since giant creatures took control of the land. After reconnecting over radio with his high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick), who is now 80 miles away at a coastal colony, Joel begins to fall for her again. As Joel realizes that there's nothing left for him underground, he decides against all logic to venture out to Aimee, despite all the dangerous monsters that stand in his way. The fun-filled and action-packed adventure also stars Michael Rooker and Ariana Greenblatt.

Likes: You know what i kind of like this film in a way its not as predictable as most would probably think, it's surprisingly how funny and original 'Love and Monsters' is considering the overdone genre when it come to creature films, but it is an adventure worth taking.

I love how the film is not just thrown out and the audience is expected to know what happened, the film is narrativized by its main star Joel Dawson (Dylan O'Brien) explaining how the world became full of monstrous insect and other creatures that roam the earth became that way, which reminds of Godzilla in away give a good back ground to watch happened to the earth. 

Film kind of a fantasy, comedy, survival genre that pretty intense at times and funny in others other places, where the creatures CGI is perfect designed; and somewhat adorably scary on some. In the midst of a pandemic of monsters, I think it is something that will touch the sensitivity of many people that now live the dramas of self-isolation.

It's got some very similarity to Zombieland when rule keep you alive, keep wit about you because some of the Earth insect live in the ground, so you can imagine the danger. Dylan O'Brien proves once again that he can hold himself as the main lead in a film, with a short cameo with Michael Rooker who plays as "Clyde survival samurai".

Like i said their are some pretty frightening intense moments with certain giant Predator insects, which give this film all round entertainment, while give a brief flashback moment of what happened to Joel Dawson parents alone with some emotional heartfelt moments. Its a pretty solid solid film that involves friendship, family and how far you willing to risk you're life to be with someone you love. 

As 2020 film go this is worth watching for Entertainment value., i hope this get a sequel.    

  

Dislikes: There are moments toward the end where the film does get a bit stupid but the film is forgive able with it well round storytelling and visual effects. Wish there was more monsters in the film.  

Overall: Great creature feature with a background explaining what happen, with amazing visual effects.
